A note about the Aurora:

The Aurora is a beautiful thing! She has many variables… ones we can control, ones we cannot control. The variables of aurora viewing we cannot control include the weather, and the solar activity/aurora activity. What we can do to try to control these “uncontrollables” is to provide guests a chance to see the aurora multiple nights. The Fairbanks Visitors Center published a finding that if you spend 3 or more nights in the Fairbanks area, it will increase your chance of seeing the aurora by over 90%. So to control this uncontrollable, we provide multiple nights for aurora viewing!

Factors we can control? The number of nights you stay, the amount of time you spend aurora viewing and when to aurora view. The Aurora Viewing Season is from August 21 to April 21. We book our aurora viewing tours within this season because it is dark enough here in Alaska to see lady aurora! The number of nights aurora viewing and the amount of time you spend aurora viewing is easy because we have you go on tour. It is very difficult to fall asleep on a guided tour so you have LOTS of time to view the aurora because you are staying up to look for them. The best part of this particular package is it is escorted by a local guide and we have 2 nights of private aurora viewing. Leave those crowds behind and enjoy a more quiet and serene aurora viewing experience outside of Fairbanks!

Cancellation Policy for the escorted travel programs for Winter 2024/2025

The $250 per person is a nonrefundable deposit. If cancelled outside 31 days, it is 80% refundable. If cancelled within 30 days, it is a nonrefundable tour ticket. Here is our Alaska Trip Protection form for you to complete and return with travel insurance information. We do not sell trip insurance, but highly recommend you purchase it. We will need this form returned to indicate if you have purchased trip insurance on your own, or have chosen to travel without trip insurance. Travel can be unpredictable, it is in your best interest to purchase trip insurance in this quick changing world. Salmon Berry recommends TravelSafe.

Why do we, the staff at Utah Luxury Tours travel with Salmon Berry Tours?

The entire staff of ULT at one time or another in the past year has taken a northern lights tour with Salmon Berry. They operate, design and guide tours in the very same fashion we do. Attention to detail, and Guide, Guide, Guide, is also their secret to success!!

Their guides do a great job of sharing not only the history of Alaska, but point out areas of interest along the way as well as share personal stories of life in Alaska. We can answer any questions you may have about your travels and provide you with help to fill your free time if desired! Please take a look at our About Us page to learn a little more about who we are and what we are all about. We are all local Alaskan guides – we not only give great tours of Alaska but also own our own small fleet of touring vehicles.
