Utah is set to experience an awe-inspiring event as an annular solar eclipse graces its skies. Those fortunate enough to be within the path of this celestial phenomenon will witness a breathtaking sight: the Sun partially obscured by the Moon, forming a slender ring of light. Although daylight will be significantly dimmed, it will not reach the complete darkness observed during a total solar eclipse. To fully appreciate this eerie spectacle, it is recommended to use proper eclipse glasses and other safe viewing methods.
The annular solar eclipse will commence in Utah at 10:24 am MDT, accompanied by the Moon’s shadow racing across the landscape at a remarkable speed of 3897 mph. It will conclude its journey across the state at 10:35 am MDT, with the Moon’s shadow gradually decreasing its velocity to 2643 mph. The maximum duration of annularity, when the Sun appears as a perfect ring, will last an impressive 4 minutes and 40 seconds in Utah.

Southern Utah boasts some of the most picturesque landscapes in the United States, making it an exceptional choice for those planning to witness this celestial event. Visitors flocking to Utah for the annular solar eclipse will also be treated to exceptionally dark night skies and generally favorable weather conditions, adding to the overall experience.
