Jan 31, 2024

Looking for a truly unique tour to kick off your 2024 travel? While any of our luxury group tours would make a great choice, there’s one in particular that could be a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.

This spring, parts of the US will experience a total solar eclipse. While millions of people will get to see the eclipse, only a portion will get the chance to experience complete totality.

In April 2024, Utah Luxury Tours will be offering a unique and exciting adventure that allows guests to experience not only the eclipse but two incredible natural phenomena; the solar eclipse and the blooming of the famous Texas bluebonnets.

The Best of Texas-Solar Eclipse & Bluebonnets tour is a unique option for families, couples, and solo travelers looking for a great way to experience the 2024 eclipse.

In addition to these highlights, this eight-day tour will cover some of the most famous attractions across the state of Texas. Keep reading to learn more, and to learn why this should be on your list of private lux tours to enjoy in 2024.

Day One

This tour kicks off in Houston, Texas. Guests are responsible for arranging an airport transfer to your hotel. From there, you’ll head to Post, a mid-century historic US Post Office that has been converted into a market and entertainment venue. You’ll meet your guide and driver, as well as your fellow tour participants. Get an overview of your itinerary, and learn what to expect during your tour, while you take in the incredible views of downtown Houston’s skyline.

Dinner is on your own, but you won’t have to go far. There are many food options to choose from at Post.

Day Two

The first full day of your tour includes a tour of some of the best that Houston, Texas has to offer. We’ll tour the NASA Houston Space Center, as well as the San Jacinto Museum and Battlefield.

When you’re finished exploring Houston, relax and enjoy the ride as we travel on to San Antonio.

Day Three

The oldest municipality in Texas, San Antonio was established in the early 1700s by Spanish missionaries and soldiers. Today, it boasts the seventh-highest population count of any city in the United States.

San Antonio is home to one of only 25 UNESCO World Heritage Sites in the country and is one of only 50 UNESCO Cities of Gastronomy in the world. On day three of your luxury group tour, you’ll get the chance to experience the Alamo for yourself. You’ll also visit the Historic Market Square and Riverwalk before turning in for the night.

Day Four

On day four, you’ll be exploring Texas Hill Country. Here, stories of the fight for Texas independence, the history of Spanish colonization, the excitement of the great American cowboy, and the rich culture brought by German and Czech pioneers all collide. You’re in for a day rich in history and culture, under the brilliant Texas sky.

Explore Luckenbach, President Johnson NHP, and spend your evening in Fredericksburg

Day Five

Day five of our Best of Texas tour is a big one; your chance to see the famous Texas bluebonnets!

In the 1960s, Lady Bird Johnson, the wife of President Lyndon B. Johnson set out to convince Congress to invest in beautifying the highways of the United States. She succeeded in getting legislation passed, which later led to the planting of wildflowers along Texas, Lady Bird Johnson’s home state’s highways. Decades later, spring continues to bring brilliant displays of blooms to the state’s highways.

Bluebonnets may be one of the main attractions, but you’ll also see Indian paintbrush, primrose, Indian blanket, and more. They cover the hillsides, fields, and medians of highways across the state.

On day five, you’ll also get a chance to visit the Texas State Capitol Building and see the bats at the Congress Street Bridge.

Day Six

You’ve explored big cities, taken a step back in time, and enjoyed some of Texas’ natural beauty. Now, it’s time to pull on your boots for a day filled with cowboys and farm culture.

See the famous Fort Worth Stockyards, Billy Bob’s Honkytonk, and the Silos at Magnolia Market. This tour might not include the amount of hiking that you’ll experience on a national park tour with Utah Luxury Tours. But you will get a chance to walk the Chisholm Trail Suspension Bridge and the Ennis Bluebonnet Trail.

Day Seven

Day seven is another big day on this private lux tour; the day of the solar eclipse! On April 8, 2024, a total solar eclipse will make its way across the United States. Our tour group will be in Dallas, which will experience totality for three minutes and 51 seconds. The eclipse will begin at 12:23 PM, with the total eclipse beginning at 1:40 PM. It will end just before 1:43 PM.

After watching the eclipse, you’ll get to explore downtown Dallas. See the Dealey Plaza, Thanksgiving Square, and the Cattle Drive sculpture. Then, spend one last evening celebrating an incredible week with your new friends.

Day Eight

After breakfast, you’ll enjoy an airport transfer to Dallas Fort Worth Airport, where you can begin making your way home.
